It’s a Hard Rock Life

Rock & Roll Hotel

let's rock & roll!

You were sorely disappointed when HBO killed Six Feet Under.

But if you thought only provocative story lines and fine acting could make a funeral home worth visiting, think again.

The Rock & Roll Hotel, a new live music venue, breathes life into an old mortuary with the glory of hot guitar licks, big hair, and endless drum solos.

The two-story bar and concert hall will feature local and touring bands, as well as the occasional DJ. But by incorporating a luxe hotel vibe — from hanging chandeliers, gilded mirrors, and velvet drapes to private party rooms called the Presidential and Honeymoon suites — the venue mimics life on the road to give fans the complete tour experience.

Feeling loungy? Mellow out upstairs on one of the plush couches or in a window booth. Fancy yourself a groupie? Groove to your favorite band with fellow revelers on the first floor.

All of which guarantees such a good time, you’ll think you’ve died and gone to heaven.

The Rock & Roll Hotel, 1353 H Street NE, between 13th and 14th Streets (202-388-7625 or rockandrollhoteldc.com).
