Artistic Interpretation
Artfully Chocolate

Sometimes, unexpected pairings yield marvelous results. Ketchup and eggs. Socks and heels. D-level celebs and ballroom dancing.
Another unlikely combo that’s working out brilliantly: Artfully Chocolate, the new Del Ray spot that’s part art gallery, part chocolate shop. Owner (and artist) Eric Nelson displays (and sells) his paintings and mosaics alongside an equally appealing selection of candy. The truffles, caramels, buttercreams, and fudge come from local chocolatiers, which have elevated candy making to an art form all its own.
True to theme, Nelson also stocks scented candles and massage oil from Ligne Chocolate, cacao voodoo dolls, and chocolate pasta, which smells like cocoa when it boils. Yes, that sounds questionable. Then again, some people eat chocolate-covered bees.
A buzzworthy idea, sure. But we’ll stick to Nelson’s variation on a flavor.
