Volunteer at N Street Village

help out!

Thus far, your resolve to do more good deeds has resulted in paying your rent on time and being extra nice to your boyfriend in the hopes of a whopper Valentine’s Day gift (not exactly model behavior).

So give it another shot (and really mean it) by helping out at N Street Village. The nonprofit complex offering services and support for homeless and low-income women is looking for volunteers in dozens of capacities.

Sign up to serve meals, stay overnight at the shelter, or pick up donations. Lend a hand at the wellness center, assist the women with legal issues, or teach resume writing and interviewing skills. Creative? Lead art projects, knitting or dance lessons, or yoga.

At the minimum, you can donate linens, food, toiletries, clothing, medical supplies, and craft materials. Basically, just do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Then sit back and wait for karma to do its thing.

N Street Village, 1333 N Street NW, between Vermont Avenue and 14th Street (202-939-2096 or kpriddy@nstreetvillage.org).
