Remix-a-lot

The Remix Vintage Opens

re-re-remix!

You love old things: grannies, wine, money.

So it’s no wonder you’ll flip for The Remix, the just-opened Capitol Hill shop that’s dedicated to all things vintage.

Owner Stacey DiTata brings in new inventory daily by scouring estate sales and dealers’ caches from Massachusetts to Miami for well-preserved, hard-to-find pieces.

On the floor out front there are piles of designer frocks, coats, skirts, and tops from Pucci, Christian Dior, Louis Feraud, Courreges, Zandra Rhodes, and Victor Costa. There’s also plenty of costume jewelry, hats, and handbags. But try to score an invite to the private shopping room for a crack at the top pieces that are hidden away.

In the back half of the space, you’ll find home furnishing treasures like a ’60s green wool snake-shaped sectional sofa and Plexiglas hostess serving cart, a ’70s Mediterranean crushed velvet sofa, and a ’50s maple vanity with huge round mirror.

The best things are sure to go fast.

So don’t just sit around getting old.

The Remix, 645 Pennsylvania Avenue SE, between 6th and 7th Streets (202-547-0211 or remixvintage.com).
