J. Chocolatier Silver and Gold Confections

Being called metal mouth was never something you embraced.

But you’ll probably reconsider once you get a taste of J. Chocolatier’s gold- and silver-dusted confections.

The Capitol Hill candy maker decorates each of its molded, handmade chocolate truffles with real sterling silver and 24-karat gold. But the glitter is not just superficial: The line is made in small batches from fresh, high-quality ingredients like local honey and chocolate couverture from El Rey of Venezuela and Valrhona of France, without any junky extracts, preservatives, concentrates, or flavorings.

Favorites include fleur de sel caramel, a slow-cooked, buttery caramel topped with fleur de sel; pistachio and lemon with white chocolate, lemon zest, and pistachio; and honey and star anise, made from dark chocolate ganache, clover honey, and star anise, of course.

They’ll also ship toffee and chocolate-covered almonds right to your door. So don’t worry about driving to get them.
