Louise Green Hats

Judging from Grammy’s sizable hat collection, you’d have thought that crazy broad was Queen Elizabeth back in the day.
Too bad you sold the lot for a quarter and a smile during Yard Sale ’96. (Damn the person who told you fashion wasn’t cyclical.)
You can redeem (and repent for) your lack of foresight with an elegant new vintage-inspired chapeau by Louise Green.
Handmade in California from materials like velvet, felt, or silk chiffon ribbon, the hats are lined with Green’s signature silk-covered elastic sweatband, ensuring ideal fit and comfort. Our faves are Andrea, a brown cloche adorned with leaf cutouts (it might cause impromptu Charleston jams) and Donovan, a black fedora (very Bogart meets Timberlake).
The toppers aren’t cheap. But they’ll surely stand the test of time.
Take that, whippersnapper.
Available at Proper Topper, 1350 Connecticut Avenue NW, between N Street and Dupont Circle (202-842-3055); 3213 P Street NW, at Wisconsin Avenue (202-333-6200 or propertopper.com).
