Sweet Suite
Co Co. Sala Opens

The encyclopedia of parenting states that too much sugar will ruin your dinner (not to mention your teeth).
After a lifetime of finishing those peas before you could have dessert, it’s time to revolt.
Co Co. Sala, Penn Quarter’s new chocolate dreamland, proves that there’s no such thing as too much sugar. With walls and curtains designed to simulate flowing chocolate and sculptures made from spun sugar, the space is a monument to the sweet stuff.
The luxe lounge launches with dinner only, but will soon offer chocolates around the clock, from breakfast pastries to five-course sample menus that would give even Cookie Monster a sugar buzz.
For those looking to moderate sugar intake, the restaurant also brings a bit of whimsy to the savory side, offering triple-takes on crab cakes, salads, mac and cheese, and sliders.
Because the only thing worse than a sugar crash is Mom’s “told you so.”
Co Co. Sala, 929 F Street NW, between 9th and 10th Streets (202-347-4265 or cocosala.com).
